 Sitting in the lee of the Sierra Bernia
mountain, ALTEA is a hill town fringed with white rustic
houses running down to the sea.. ALTEA town, high on its hill,
is protected from any cold winds by the surrounding mountains. It is no
surprise that the World Health Organization recognizes this area as
having the finest climate in Europe.
To really get know ALTEA it is necessary to take
the time to explore on foot. You will be constantly
surprised by the little winding, stepped streets, the
architecture, the flowers and the views of the bay.

mountains of the Sierra Bernia
sweeping down to the sea through Mascarat,
Barra and Solsida to the wide open beaches fringing the sea.
Sitting at the centre of its bay, ALTEA

of artists over the years and it is still a centre of
both arts and music.
